Privacy Policy
This privacy policy describes how Darksaber at www.darksaber.win ("we", "us", or "Darksaber") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website and application. By using Darksaber, you agree to this policy. Please also read our Terms of Use.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use Darksaber, we may collect:
- Account information — When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, Google account ID, and display name from Google.
- Game-related information — If you provide an ally code, we store it along with your in-game player name (when available). We may fetch and display roster and game data associated with ally codes you enter.
- Planner and settings data — When you are signed in, GAC Planner defenses, opponent ally codes, and related planner state are stored on our servers. Feature preferences (such as counter filters and display settings) may be stored in your browser.
- Subscription information — If paid subscriptions are enabled, we store subscription status and Stripe customer identifiers. Payment card details are handled by Stripe, not by us.
- Server logs — Our servers may record standard request data such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps for security and troubleshooting.
When we collect information
We collect information when you sign in with Google, enter or update an ally code, save planner data, subscribe or manage a subscription, or otherwise interact with features that require an account or persistent storage.
How we use your information
We use collected information to:
- Authenticate you and maintain your account session
- Provide GAC Planner, counters, defensive squads, Conquest feats, and related features
- Fetch and display SWGOH roster and game data for ally codes you provide
- Manage subscription access when paid plans are offered
- Improve reliability, security, and performance of the service
Local storage in your browser
Darksaber uses your browser's local storage to remember preferences, ally codes, and planner data when you are not signed in (or before data is synced to your account). This data stays on your device unless you clear site data or sign in and migrate it to our servers.
Cookies
When you sign in, we set an HttpOnly session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie is used only for authentication and is not used for advertising. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Third-party services
Darksaber relies on third parties to operate. Each has its own privacy policy:
- Google OAuth — Sign-in and account authentication. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Stripe — Payment processing when subscriptions are enabled. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- SWGOH Comlink — Game and roster data for Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes. Data is fetched to power planner and roster features.
- GAHistory — Grand Arena battle history used for counter search, defensive squad suggestions, and related features.
We do not control how these third parties handle data once it leaves Darksaber. We recommend reviewing their policies.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personally identifiable information.
- We do not run display advertising on Darksaber.
- We do not use Google Analytics, Google AdSense, or similar advertising or behavioral tracking tools.
- We do not send marketing newsletters.
Data retention and deletion
We retain account and planner data while your account exists and as needed to provide the service. If you want your account and associated data deleted, email [email protected] from the address linked to your account. We will process reasonable deletion requests in a timely manner, subject to any legal obligations to retain certain records.
Security
We use HTTPS in production, signed session cookies, and other measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. For security vulnerability reports, see our Security page.
Children
Darksaber is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
California residents (CalOPPA)
Some features can be browsed without signing in. This privacy policy is linked from the Darksaber footer. We will post any material changes on this page with an updated date. Users with accounts can update ally code and related profile information through account settings where available.
International users
Darksaber is operated from the European Union. If you access the service from outside the EU, you are responsible for compliance with local laws. By using Darksaber, you consent to the processing of your information as described in this policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of Darksaber after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
